At the invitation of Beaujon Hospital in Clichy, Romain Froquet created murals in the building’s lobby in December 2020. This initiative is part of the cultural policy that the hospital has been committed to for many years.
The collaboration with the painter took place, however, at a critical juncture in the health crisis. The director, Arnaud Giraudet, confirms this: "Focused on Covid-19, it was necessary to give the hospital a breath of fresh air. Who better than Romain Froquet to improve the living environment of patients and professionals with a work, much appreciated, that brings color and joy."
Romain Froquet had taken the time to talk to some of the healthcare workers before working on the walls of Beaujon Hospital. His murals thus form a series of intertwining and overlapping colorful and luminous lines, whose dynamism and transparency offer a breath of air, a sort of hymn to life. "In this transitional space, I want to create something powerful for healthcare workers and patients, something that invites on a journey. I hope it will catch the eye and paves the way for contemplation and for letting go of the present moment," he says.
